Topic 1: Tax Updates with Concentration on the Employee Retention Credit

Speaker: Sam Wheeler

Bio:  Sam Wheeler joined Bourgeois Bennet in 2010 and has been in public accounting since 2000.  He is a Manager in Business Consulting Services.  He specializes in business valuation, financial analysis, litigation support and business planning.  Sam works with clients in education, engineering, family limited partnerships, law, manufacturing, maritime, oil and gas exploration, physicians, retail and others.  In addition to his CPA certification, Sam holds the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) accreditations.

Speaker: Stephen C. Himel

Bio: Stephen C. Himel , CPA, is a Principal of Bourgeois Bennett and is focused on providing clients auditing, compliance, and consulting services related to employee benefit plans. He has over 30 years of experience in this area.  Steve began his career with the international accounting firm KPMG and then served as the Director of Human Resources for a large food manufacturer before returning to public accounting to focus on employee benefit plan services.  Steve is considered a leader in the field of employee benefits and holds an advanced certification from the AICPA related to defined contribution plan audits.
