10:30 a.m. - 6 Mistakes that Kill Engagement

Engagement rates are at their lowest in a decade. Yet, even when engagement levels have been at their highest, over 60% of your business professionals still aren’t engaged. A major cause for engagement levels staying so low is how your people are being managed. While your supervisors and managers are certainly not malintent, they are likely making one or more of these mistakes that are negatively impacting your culture and inducing quiet quitting.

The following leadership missteps encourage exhaustion, feed mistrust, inhibit growth and increase loneliness and detachment:

      1.    Perpetuate always-on pressure
2.    Disregard symptoms of boreout
3.    Overlook the power of trust and self-determination
4.    Miss opportunities to bolster psychological safety.
5.    Refrain from conducting 1:1 check-ins
6.    Neglect to underscore why work matters

Leveraging the Joychiever’s Hierarchy of Engagement, this presentation will bring to light the 6 mistakes, as well as provide concrete ways to avoid them in the future. Engagement is a complex and omnipresent issue that with a few shifts in management behavior could be greatly improved.
