Session Topic:
The Resilient Administrator: Staying Grounded Amid Uncertainty and Change
Session Summary:
This interactive session encourages open discussion and shared experience. Attendees will be invited to share their own stories of navigating unexpected events, exploring what worked—and what didn’t—when managing the emotional side of disruption. Questions and conversation are welcomed throughout the session.
Session Description:
As administrators and leaders within our law firms, we pride ourselves on being prepared for just about anything. Yet, as 2020 reminded us all too well, the definition of “unexpected” can shift in an instant. From natural disasters and sudden losses to regional or national emergencies, these moments test not only our management skills but also our emotional resilience. How do you, as a leader, guide your office through the unthinkable—and support your people through the emotional aftermath that follows?
The pandemic exposed just how quickly “normal” can disappear, but it also revealed the strength and adaptability that law firm administrators bring to the table. While COVID-19 may have been the most visible example, it won’t be the last major disruption to challenge our firms. In today’s unpredictable environment, leadership demands both strategic readiness and human compassion.
This session will provide practical strategies and real-world insights to help you guide your firm through unexpected events—balancing preparation, empathy, and decisive action. Attendees will leave with actionable ideas and approaches to strengthen both operational stability and emotional resilience when challenges arise.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize that no firm—or leader—is immune to unexpected events.
- Understand key actions to take when crisis strikes.
- Learn how to build preparedness plans that go beyond the basics.
- Develop strategies for personal and professional resilience in the aftermath of change.
