From Slips to Cyber Hits: A 360° Look at Law Firm Risk & Insurance

Summary:

From slips and falls in the lobby to ransomware events and privacy breaches, law firms face a 360° spectrum of risk that goes far beyond traditional malpractice concerns. This session, "From Slips to Cyber Hits: A 360° Look at Law Firm Risk & Insurance," we walk administrators through the fundamentals of Property & Casualty, Lawyers Professional Liability, Cyber, Employment Practices Liability and Management Liability. We'll translate insurance jargon into plain language, highlight real-world claim scenarios, and explore how these coverages intersect in a law firm environment. Attendees will leave with practical questions to ask their brokers and a clearer view of where their firms may be under-or over- exposed.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Identify the major categories of risk facing law firms today (including P&C, LPL, Cyber, EPL and ML) and match them to the appropriate insurance solutions.
  2. Distinguish what each coverage is designed to address and recognize common gaps or overlaps between policies in a law firm insurance program.
  3. Analyze real-world claim scenarios to understand how different policies would (or would not) respond.
  4. Evaluate where your firm may be under- or over- insured and outline practical next steps to improve your risk and insurance posture.
